For the Love of God, Husband, and Children

I remember, years ago attending a women’s conference. The speaker was a wonderful, godly, older woman. Not many years older than myself. But she was a Pastor’s wife, and she blessed me, so much. I enjoyed her talks very much; I took careful notes and was so excited to hear what she would talk about, in her subsequent scheduled sessions. …

Contentment Through Betrayal

“But my FRIENDS have dealt very unkindly with me and turned against me. “It is sad when a friend proves like a brook in summer. (Job 6:15) The traveler being parched with heat, comes to the brook, hoping to refresh himself—but the brook is dried up—yet be content.” (Thomas Watson, The Art of Divine Contentment, p. 53). “My companion stretched out …

Do We Desire Contentment ?

Just as any parent knows the moment our child crawls or walks the struggle between wills of the child and the parent really begin. This is how we can tend to behave with God. As with our children, we know that their independence can lead to danger and they are oblivious.

It is Better to Take Refuge in the Lord

Cheryl Scripture Devotions

In eternal matters, salvation, and life and death man is fully impotent to assist us. To put our hope or trust in governing authorities is to place our faith in broken vessels. To do this is double-minded. But, God; God is faithful. He is not only able to help us, but He is also willing. He is faithful to His Word, and unchangeable in His promises. We must put our faith, hope, and trust in Him. Even when it seems that there is no help left on earth we must have a vibrant and robust hope that God is our help.
