This post is in response to a question asking if I would define, biblical Patriarchy. This is my response.
Before the suffrage movement/ women’s right to vote movement, as this “movement” is referred to, the only order in society, family and Church was Historical Biblical Male Patriarchy. That was it.Oh, their were small groups of rebels, but most of society thought them to be beyond the fray. They were looked down upon, much like brothels and actors once were. They were not tolerated in polite society. By far, all of society was modeled by scripture, even the culture was restrained by the effects of the Word, and the Church living it.
The Church and the world were very clear on what made up a household and the different roles and how the hierarchy worked. There were no ambiguities. Men were the leaders in the home, they would provide and protect.
Scripture is patriarchal in the whole. Deconstructionists are attempting to dismantle the cannon, but they would have to burn every book of scripture and then they still would not be able to change what God has said. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. God does not care one iota what feminist/woke folks think. They will bear judgement if they do not repent. But make no mistake, we cannot fall into this weak doctrinal argument of egalitarianism/complementarianism if we are reading and believing God’s Word.
I respect Wayne Grudem, and John Piper, but I don’t’ take their word over God’s Word. I have said it before and will continue saying it Wayne Grudem and John Piper appeased feminism in the 1980’s to adopt “complementarianism”. It’s foolishness that so many fell behind them. This is the power of feminism in the Church. Much like Margaret Sanger was able to get the majority of the Church to accept “birth control” when before her doctrines introduced to the Church, the Church taught for 2,000 years that children are a blessing from God and should not be inhibited or obstructed. I fear for the visible Church and how much they have appeased culture by sacrificing God’s Word, piece by piece. This is not a small matter, God will not be mocked.
The teaching of Male Patriarchy/ Father/husband led families, societies and church are woven through all of scripture.
Here are just some of the examples that can be found in scripture. I am not defending a “system” I am not defending God’s Word. But I am exhorting those that have compromised with God’s design to repent. The world is not to be appeased, but to be called to repent.
Patriarchy/Male Hierarchy.God does not whisper here, at all. The men that have folded to feminism, have been poisoned by feminism.
Male headship. Wives, are to submit to husbands. Women are not teach. Man’s priority in the creation order. Woman is man’s helper. God said, ‘he will rule over you’. Males only were priests. Males only were apostles. Males only were overseers, pastors, or elders. Women are not speak in church. Men and women have separate roles in the church. Sarah called Abraham Lord.
For thousands of years, God’s order was never questioned. It was noble, blessed and desired.
Women, would have children, keeping the house, clean and well fed. A woman has always been the weaker vessel, she was made that way. Women were content with this arrangement, and even desired this status in their lives. Hoping and praying for a fine suitor that God would give them their hearts desire of loving their husband, of bearing children and being a keeper of the home. These women loved God’s order. They desired it and prayed for it. Their mothers were instrumental in bringing up their daughters to be good housekeepers and mothers. This was understood for hundreds of years, as the biblical hierarchy that was ordained by God and glorified Him in the home, church and society.
And where did this hierarchy/Patricarchy come from? We know because even the feminist will acknowledge the fact that God’s order is Man led. That God made woman for man, that He did not make man for woman. And, even in the Garden, the rebellion was exposed. God telling us that the woman’s desire would be to rule over the man, but God said the man would rule over the woman.
This order for thousands of years, blessed the Church, Society and home.
And then came the feminists.
Feminists ruin everything. Scripture tells us that if a woman does not cover her head in worship she might as well shave off her hair.
Basically, Paul was relaying that if you don’t want to be recognized, as a woman under God’s and her husbands authority, by covering your head, you might as well go all the way and shave all your hair off. Like the women of that day that rebelled against God’s order. A woman shaving her hair off, hated God’s order. Mocking it.
Yes, they have gained ground in the Church since 1869. Yes, weak men have appeased them. Ground has been lost in the natural but God has not gave up anything. His Word does not change with the concessions of mere men.
The world has amplified this sentiment, hasn’t it. Women want to be like men. They spurn God’s Word. They spurn the blessing of home, family and children. They believe the lie of the serpent, that they will “be like God”.
As women of God, we love God’s order, His Word and His commandments, because we love Him. His Will be done, and we can know that and have peace. We can and do glorify our Lord by believing and obeying Him. Honor Him in obeying Him.
Not because He is a tyrannical Master, but on the contrary He is a Kind, and loving Father that loved us enough to pull us out of the miry clay and set our feet on the Rock. He gave us His son, making a way for our salvation. We are forever grateful and humbled by His Great Salvation.
Ladies, we are at a time in history where the pressure to be like the world is not only coming from the world. But from those that claim the name of Christ. They will and have came to us with crafty arguments, but let them fall on deaf ears. We must stand. He will cause us to stand.
All glory to Him!!
