I say to you with humility that women are strong. Not strong in the way the world, the Devil and the flesh say. But strong in the equipping God gives to submit to His place and purpose for them.
The woman after God’s heart strengthens herself to serve her family: “She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms… Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.” Proverbs 31:17&25. She makes sure they are fed, clothed and established. She uses her strength to work willingly and with purpose – 31:13 and with her extra time and energy she reaches forth her hands to the poor. She brings honor to her husband in HIS position of leadership “Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.” and she fears the LORD. 31:23,30
She lacks fear of anything else and serves with confidence.
It is with humility I tell you again that women are strong. They are strong enough to fill the role God has for them and to take great pleasure in submission and service. They are strong enough to be the wives and mothers God wishes them to be and to do God’s way.
They are strong enough to not usurp their man’s position of leadership in a raw power play …like the latest action movies, or, as most commonly portrayed, to belittle them into a humbled state of subjection.
They are strong enough to not become like men and dominate men in order to have worth.
They are strong enough to respect God’s order, both in law and in marriage and not believe lies from Satan about this.
Strong enough to not invert power roles for fear of loss of self control.
Women are strong enough to be quiet when they should and strong enough to not answer back a froward husband… but to love him instead. (1 Peter 2:18,19;3:1)
They are strong enough to embrace home life and attach to domesticity in the face of a culture that derides it. (Titus 2)
They are strong enough to stay home when men go to battle. And strong enough to preach submission when they don’t feel like it.
Women are strong enough to not kill their children and also to be held to account the same as everyone else in society. Women need not be the beneficiaries of a Judiciary that is partial towards a women’s weakness. Do not tell me we need to be able to kill those who are dependent on us! My eight children deserve protection from everyone… including me.
Women CAN obey the law and submit to it.
They can also submit to the God who made them, in simple faith, and obey His clear commands to wives. They CAN consent to sound doctrine. (Eph, Col, 1 Peter, Titus)
Christ can fulfill all things in us. A Christian woman can do what Christ compels.
And while feminists like to say that it is very strong to leave a husband (in the face of Christ who says “let her not leave”), and they will say so over an ever expanding variety of abuses, I say it is very strong to cleave. In the face of inward and outward pressure, it is strong work to stay. Through yieldedness to God’s purposes, a woman can work to stabilize a home and marriage, through choice of her ENTIRE conversation, and may even win a man… to herself and to Christ. If she does not, she has done all she can and given her strength to it.
The abuse movement and Hollywood have nothing on strong women. They teach women to hate being gentle and to fear being obedient. The woman of God can be both.
“Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.”
It is this submitted woman of God who will end up with fruitful abundance…
something feminism will never give her.
“Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
